Hello Jyothi,
It's just a myth that only females make good HRs in organizations.I personally think that one should really love the work that they are doing only then they would be able to do justice to it.Anybody who is passionate about taking up a HR's profession can become one irrespective of gender.
It's a general perception that, females have tremendous patience when is comes to handling issues of the employees than men which is not always true.

You have raised quite an interesting question, wch is often faced by the interviewee.
Before you put forth your expected CTC , try to know the salary slab/structure of the company as that would give you an idea about framing yours too to avoid a fallout.
To be in the safer mode you can say as NEGOTIABLE/AS PER THE COMPANY STANDARDS.

I think a lot has been discussed about using mass mails as one of the tool of getting profiles.Being into recruitments even I also wish to express my thoughts on it:
- Using mass mailing is a situation based activity, as it only caters to junior level positions like WALKINs.I understand every top notch MNC resorts to mass mailing to attract potential talent.
- Unsolicited calls do disturb us , but they can't be compared with mass mailers since they do not make any calls and am pretty sure people would glance the req once and delete it if its not of their use.
Unless we limit ourselves to focus on the negative aspect of MASS MAILING , it is indeed a very effective tool in spreading the news about the TARGETED POSITION to the unreachables.
