Women responsibilities in today's world is a common topic on this site. Gone are the days when women gave up their careers for their families. However, balancing personal and professional life is a great challenge and often compromises have to be made.
How much you can compromise, what will mean staying for a while in the "comfort zone" in your profession in order to take care of your personal family priorities, I will let the professionals on this site to tell you.

Hi Bhuvana,
I agree that it tough to manage between personal and professional commitments. Good that you are still working. You are building on the experience you already have and this will definitely help. Just like no education goes waste, experience too does not go waste. Keep your spirits high and stay positively focused.
All the best to you!

Hi Bhuvanakumar!
Warm welcome to HRLink.
Striking a balance between family life and work life is a bit difficult that too if you are having a 2 and half year old kid. Its your mindset and attitude to which you give importance is significant and it appears from your post it seems that you are in favour of pursuing a good career which is very commendable.
Moreover, the support you get from your better half and other family members is equally crucial and this is the area where you have to concentrate more to become an effective professional. So you have to get their support and cooperation to go further up in your career.
Right now you can continue in your present job if you are comfortable and look out for more better career options. Once your kid becomes old enough say may be in another 2 years when he starts going to school you can concentrate fully on your career looking for more better options. Now by working in a small firm which is nearer to your place you are able to spend time with your kid which is also quite important till he gets old enough and if you opt for a bigger job now you may have to move away from this area by which you may not be able to spend enough time with your kid and family.
So you discuss with your better half and your family members and take their opinion also and you are the better person to chose a better option so that your family life and work life are perfectly balanced by which you will be happy and satisfied.
Wish you good luck in all your endeavours.
Cheers!
Pradeep
