Hello Jyoti,
I think profession has nothing to do with male and female...
HR is for all the people who love to interact and understand others problem... HR professional is a bridge between the employees and employer. he needs to balance both the parties. Here its just the thing of interest and choice to become a HR professional...

Sonal Banwat.

Ah dis is a nice topic to be discussed ...In intial dayz wen i was searching for a HR job most of the companies specified females only ...but i dont understand when females can challenge men in men's field why can't men challenge female ...i agree out of 100% there is 60% of females lead were remaining are male...but i feel men r more dynamic wen it comes to higher levels in company ....pls note i am not against female i respect them....and in field of HR females r giving a tough competition for male candidates...so gud luck guys

Regards,
Sai.

Hi Jyoti!
We have discussed about this topic many times on various forums.
Why there should be discrimination between human beings on the basis of gender for not only HR but everything on earth? If you can answer this question then you will get the answer for your question automatically.
There is absolutely no difference except for the reproduction between a male and female. These discriminations are human made which were propogated and exaggerated by some selfish chauvanists to meet their own personal gains but nothing else.
All humans are equal!

Hello Jyothi,

It's just a myth that only females make good HRs in organizations.I personally think that one should really love the work that they are doing only then they would be able to do justice to it.Anybody who is passionate about taking up a HR's profession can become one irrespective of gender.

It's a general perception that, females have tremendous patience when is comes to handling issues of the employees than men which is not always true.

Hi Jyoti,

Because there have been many discussions and debates of this there is nothing new that I can say. Recently a bill is also passed in the parliament for women reservation and also the list of powerful women was published in which there are indian women at good positions. We have been noticing many women breaking the glass ceiling and occupying the top seats in the corporates and not just the very well known names but also such names which are not much famous. You may want to read the following editions of Times of India for such articles on women power: 3rd March Times Ascent and 7th March - Times Life.

Anyways, it's good to debate on any topics that needs attention therefore I appreciate your intiative of bringing up this topic for discussion.

If you ask me well HR has got nothing to do with you being Male or Female. If you take into consideration recruitments, well female recruiters do have an upper hand. In case of other HR related activities such as comp and benefit, compliance, training, employee engagement etc, males do have an equal edge. At the end of all what determines the success in this field is the ability to empathize on problems of your employees and the come up with constructive and timely solutions.

After all mates we can proudly say that this is one of those professions where you can earn as well as change the lives of your employees.

Hi Jyoti,

Interesting topic!!!

You can see some valuable responses by other HR personnel over here "http://hrlink.in/topics/females-hr-professionals".

I feel gender is nothing to do with profession... it is all about your KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)....

Thanks & regards,
Vinay Nair

Hi Jyoti,

Let me try and simplify this:

Will+ Skill+ Performance= Result..... What has this got to do with Gender?

Simple formula, isn't it? :)
