With out a HRIS , cant we work?

Dear Friends,



In my company, we don’t have a HRIS. All the data bases are in Excel and separately operated for various functions (like recruitment, placement, transfer, salaries etc) there are 3 employees doing functions like salaries, transfers, new recruitments, resignations and promotions. As you see, all these functions are interrelated and can separately interlinked through even an excel data base.

I am trying to link those 3 employees’ computer for a main data base and to share special friends to specific employees. I think this is a good practice for a company which doesn’t have a good HRIS system but have a computer system.

Hi

You can use MS access and create the necessary fields. Secondly if you have a development team, internally you can create a customized software as per your requirements.

As Raghunandan sir said we can use Microsoft Office Access to maintain database madam, at same please update your Microsoft Office to 2010 madam it will help u lot and more cost effectiveness.

Hi Nimali,

Good topic. We can definitly work without HRIS, but do we keep our competetive edge? the answer is no. I have worked 4 years in non HRIS environment and our energy and time was most of the time spend on finding the data, formulating it(Vlookup,Hlookup & macros or any logical formulas in excel). The real core work was given very less time. There are good HRIS softwares available in the market for example SAP, success factor, people soft. If the budget is issue then there are some economical softwares from HR Align, HR Mantra, Adrenaline.

Now a days management requres information on fingure tips. The dashboards and mobile simulation of HRIS can give you information and reports, graphs, statistics in seconds. Very effective modules are payroll which may take hours or sometime days to calculate the inputs and the checking and re0work is very painful. Software make it easy and quick.
The systems like Time office, payroll, recruitment, PMS, separation , can run excellent using HRIS.
