Hi Nehal... i faced the same few months back.. i was working in a consultancy as a recruiter and got bored cos teh work was monotonous... same job profiles, job portals, cold calling, interviews.. talking to clients etc etc...

thats when i tot i shud move on... and I did and i dnt regret it at all :)

hmm wt u can do is :

-Chk for openings in companies

-do a few certified courses in other HR fields like maybe payroll or training and development etc... whichevr interests you and then change your job profile as per that...

- keep ur options open when it comes to HR work... like u could work for a US Staffing company (if u can work for night shifts) and in these companies you can work as US HR in departments like immigration, green cards, compliance etc...

if you want to Grow in ur career u need to increase ur subject knowledge.. and since knowledge is power.. u r confident enough to face anything... so go ahead.. try new opportunities.. check out for more openings and give ur best :)

Best of luck,
Priya :)

Hi Nehal

As you said that you have past 1 yr of exp in Recuitment field this is very nice, because recruitment part is very important in any company so don't get bored with this, what you will do is to enhance your knowledge in other fields also.
Try to get HR position in manufacturing companies their you can learn more.
Don't think about much salary just get into it and once you got a experience ,no one will stop you.
All the Best.

Hi Nehal,

Even same is the situation with me.... I am into L& D since 1 1/2 yr and am also sometimes trying to get into some other areas of HR as some of the things being repetitive.

But I though that as I have started my career in L&D and would like to gain expertise in this, I am trying to improvise what I do in regularly... I am also trying to go few levels high on the same area.....

Anyways nothing is certain, I may have to change my area...... you never know in the current scenario how a company may treat us.... so I advice you to atleast try to gain expertise may be atleast minimum would be 2-3 yrs in one field. And recruitment being the most critical area of HR I feel that every HR should have hand on exp in this area.

And Nehal.. as you were mentioning about the advance certification... would please let me know more about it..

ALL the best for your career.. Just few thoughts to share..

Naveen

Hello Nehal,

As suggested by other members here, it's good to learn more about recruitment. As you mentioned you were getting bored, you may want to why you were getting bored b/c this might repeat with your other HR roles as well. Make sure you would be really interested in it and be passionate about it. This is the best time to spend time on analyzing all that b/c you're making a transition now.

On a different note, when you post to forums, please avoid generic titles like "suggestions from you all." When I share this topic with other members, they obviously think I am asking for suggestions on something which is actually not the case. You could have been more specific with some thing like "Need suggestions on moving from recruitment to other areas of HR."

Best wishes,
RK

Hello Nehal,

Every job has its own pros & cons. Try to innovate things and try to explore your abilities further in your present job.

If required take a break for few days be with yourself and do the SWOT analysis. This might help you to link yourselves with your ambition and work out for alternatives if you really feel that your present job is taking you no where to your ambition.

The question of being montonous applies to every administrative job and the perception to deal with a new way works out.

It really worked for me . I wish you all the best.

Bye

hi Nehal
It is obvious that ur feeling urself bore.
Well I think somewhere ur stress is playing a major role in ur profession.
No woork is bore
Mainly the HR environment takes up the recruitment as a part and parcel of it.
It is you have to find a way to make a relax.
Well i suggest you that please have a break for a week from ur job i.e. on leave and enjoy the life in your own way with high precedence. Do whatever u want to do and enjoy it.
One more suggestion is that after u come back from office, u have to change ur life style and daily routine.
try to go outings for a change in attitude.
Life is very inetresting. Try to explore it and add to ur basket the beautiful moments.
U will find a diversification in ur boring attitude.
You will find sugar in ur profession.
Well every person gets bore with the daily routine but it does not mean u will leave the path aside. Well u have to change the style for a better adoption and a good result. The life and professional curve has to pass through this stage but a change of line segement of the values added will fetch you more a net result.
I do not mean that u should not have a job change. well u can go for for the better suitability.
Hence, in conclusion, My dear friend Come On cheer Up and have a laugh from your stomach and u find all charm. If possible do some Yoga Exercises in morning.
Take acre of your health and also of your profession because before it harms u should diagnosis it properly.

Well expect a feedback from you.

Take care
Bye
Pramod
