Very True.. but what they projected was the Truth.. the things are happening in India.. so whats the wrong, when its projected to world.. shud it be hidden???
The thing which is irritating me is that...there are so many things in india other than this that can be projected to the world… But people are seeing these bad and worse things for their entertainment and that to appreciating it with oscars.. is too bad

Hey thanks manju,
There were many happiest moments in my life till now and the list must go on......
Out of them I remembere few..
First, there were couple of momments during my final sem in MBA when one by one we all friends were getting placed and every one had a special day when he/she gets placed and that day would be a party day... we felt so satisfied and with joy... finally all the education we had has given a gift to us..
apart from this they were many but i remember this moment a lot.

Hi Nehal,
Even same is the situation with me.... I am into L& D since 1 1/2 yr and am also sometimes trying to get into some other areas of HR as some of the things being repetitive.
But I though that as I have started my career in L&D and would like to gain expertise in this, I am trying to improvise what I do in regularly... I am also trying to go few levels high on the same area.....
Anyways nothing is certain, I may have to change my area...... you never know in the current scenario how a company may treat us.... so I advice you to atleast try to gain expertise may be atleast minimum would be 2-3 yrs in one field. And recruitment being the most critical area of HR I feel that every HR should have hand on exp in this area.
And Nehal.. as you were mentioning about the advance certification... would please let me know more about it..
ALL the best for your career.. Just few thoughts to share..

Hi Priyanka....
I am not sure where you have read that article but sounds unreal in current scenario.
The point of considering HR as a costing center is always there but, in the present conditions everything is converted to metrics and you can see many companies calculating ROI on HR activities also... We did with my previous org. comparing the opportunity cost as outsourcing.
In any recession hit company we can see that HR people are fired at the last when they are left with no option... Because there are two reasons...
1. Even the process of layoffs and optimizing the manpower requires HR
2. Most of the companies do not have excess people working in HR
And the question of outsourcing, the million dollar question can they afford to outsource in the recession period… if that is the case you would not have seen a decent dip in industry outsourcing HR.
These are just few of my thoughts with the exposure I have...
But it would be learning for me if you can share that article...

I agree with sreeepriya..... Even i posted earlier in the same lines..
In the current materialistic world... it’s really fortune that u are happy without wanting or we can say without need of money..
The start of the discussion was somewhere focusing on making one of them the source to the other... then in that case it is really not general to make a statement that happiness leads to money but it’s may be true that money may lead to happiness in the current scenario...
Just to share some realistic points i have penned down my views and it is not that Money can be a foundation of life but it will be pillars to stand by..

In india all the sectors are hiring... but only that they have come down in huge numbers.. with any company there are always openings anytime but might be on niche skills and which were rarely found.. thats why you can see so many job postings in job sites.
BUt it is clear that no industry is left from this recession effect, every company is forced to cut down the costs by reducing staff, avoiding unnecessary expenses,..these have led all the companies to not to absorb new joinees rather optimize the existing ones. Thus there are very few companies who are actuially recruiting in huge numbers. My adivce to all the freshers who are graduating is to pursue further education like PG or get into GOVT sectors.. the best thing one can do at this period is, being in education area.
My prediction would be atleast by august 2009 we can see an increase in the number of recruitments and openings. Industries to be looked for would be pharma, telecom, govt .
These are my views just after being in the corporate world for one solid and toughest year.
please let me know if my views are to be amended
