Heya Sabitha!! The Topics are not told in advance for the One min games!! so no time for searching info!! Last year almost 150 associates took part for this game in my profit center. It was really amazing to see the response!!

Great initiative Jagan..
* Office decoration.
* Sabita and Pankaj already mentioned some good points.
* 15-30 min inspiring presentation or video. (about great leader or some those people who really fought hard but people dont remember them)
* Sweets Distribution.
* Some petriotic play (if time allows) /Songs.
OR
* You can engage your employees into some social activities.
India is an independent country but their are so many poor people (especially children) who are strugling for being independent. So you can do something for them. Atleast some sort of donation which give them one time meal.
All the best for the function..

How to Celebrate Independence Day in our Office...??? Need Suggestions

Dear All,
We are planning to celebrate this Independence Day on our Office on 15th of August. This the First time we are planning to do that..
Can all of you share your ideas and thoughts on this one....

Hi Jagan,
Thanx for taking the Intiative.
I feel even Independence day should be equally celebrated as we do other festivals.
Even i was planning the same to celebrate in our office. Well what i was thinking to do is..
1 To decorate the cubicle as per the theme "Independence Day"
2. Play "Antakshari" and the songs should be exclusively "all patriotic"
3. Traditional Wear Competition.
4. A quiz program (about the leaders and the freedom fighters who fought for independence)
5.And not the least, you can plan for a day out to any “old age homes” or any “orphanages” and spread love among them…
Well these are my thoughts. Waiting to hear more from all the HRians..

2) One Min games: Whoever says the largest number of states or indian rulers or National monuments or National data trivia IN ONE MINUTE wins the games!! (Trust me this works gr8!!)
3) Flag hoisting by a Senior Honcho!! (try this only if you got proper space and other stuff, becos National flag should be done with perfection as it represents our patriotic pride)
4) Prompt the Leads/Unit heads to distribute sweets (Ofcourse not out of their pockets, if they r unwilling)!!
Trust me!! all of these go well with the associates as a part of the indepence day celebrations!!

Our's is a small Consultancy.... but still we have decided to donate our one day salary.
If you people also accept it and donate your just one day salary out of your 365 days, it will be very very gr8 to the people who actually need it. The orphanage, oldage home, some donation camp. But this should not be binding on the employee, its upto them whether they wants to donate or not.
And you will remember it through out your Life that u hv done somthing for the society. And then you can play your activity, hv fun, N'joy the day.
