Hi Harish Sir,
Interesting post!!!
At the end of the day its all about productivity, effectiveness and efficiency..
1st case: I also go with the majority which says if nothing goes wrong on the floor this is not at all a problem...
2nd Case: But when both X & Y are in a same department then his/her supervisor need to have a close eye on both of them and if the productivity is effected then HR department need to interfere.
Positive aspects of this situation:
*This may improve the team cohesiveness.
*Collective performance towards goal.
*Positive synergy.
*Boost moral.
*Less chances of conflicts (until no brake-ups happens). ;-)
Negative aspects of this situation:
*I agree with Karthika that if they marry then it leads to some problems like combine leave, late coming (not necessary but may happen), common frustrations if they are facing some family problems (financial/personal).
*If X has a negative attitude towards organization policies or culture then Y may also have a similar feeling (or visa versa).
*Higher chances of building informal relation/activity during work place (its human psychology).
*Showing favoritism or blaming others in case of any critical incidents.
There are some very well known and reputed companies (not specifying name) has a HR policy which states that if 2 employees get married then one among them must have to resign from their current position nevertheless their position/performance. So we can also discuss this in some later stage.
But at the end I would like to say my 1st statement once again that at the end of the day it’s all about productivity, effectiveness and efficiency and if it is not affected then such relations are fine...
Thanks & Regards,
Vinay Nair

Hi Mr C K S,
Good topic to discuss because it will definitely bring change to our existing education system. First and foremost advantage is that students will get some global exposure when foreign university come in place and it will definitely take the education level to a different standard.
I agree with Harish Sir on his valuable response and I also agree that we need to have much more clarity on other points like its impact on economy, labour market, stakeholders etc.
But I think primarily there must be some credibility check should be in place before establishment of such institutions because now a day the education is no more a service business (exceptions are there). Institutes have much more driven by the monitory benefits rather than social objectives. This is not only with the foriegn players but even our local institutes have to think socially.
Lets hope for the best!

Hi Jyoti,
Interesting topic!!!
You can see some valuable responses by other HR personnel over here "http://hrlink.in/topics/females-hr-professionals".
I feel gender is nothing to do with profession... it is all about your KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)....
Thanks & regards,

Hi Sri,
Great post!!!
But in between the post say "When deciding to be "tough" or "kind", try to be kind." Many times some people take advantage of such situation or such people who always try to be "KIND"...
So, I personally feel if we are managing people then we need to be little bit diplomatic and react according to situation/people's attitude.
Thanks,
Vinay
