Hi Latha
Sorry for posting late reply.
The process of Training and development differs from company to company. The below mentioned process is been followed in my previous company.
1) Training Need Identification.
Every employee will be having the KRA for the year which will be set during the beginning of the year. In the KRA itself the employee will be mentioning his training requirements (on the job, Classroom, online, outdoor, etc) for the year. This will be reviewed and finalized by his/her reporting authority and then sent to HR.
2) Training Calendar
The HR will be collating the entire training requirement for all the employees and then prepare the training calendar for the financial year covering the classroom training needs of all the employees. Based on the same the total Man days for all the employees for the year will be fixed.
3) Training Arrangements
The HR will be responsible for selecting the trainers and finalizing the course content as per the training requirement. For some training the employees requested for training also will the involved along with HR in finalizing the course content. Then they will be arranging for the training as per the calendar and they need to ensure that the employees requested for the specific training are attending the same.
4) Training Feedback:
The HR will collect the feedback from the participants about the training and the trainer which will be help to rate the training. Also HR will be collecting the feedback from the trainer about the participants which will help us to rate the employees (by comparing the pre and post training feedback)
5) Appraisal:
During the appraisal it will be reviewed whether the employees has completed all the training requested by him in the KRA and also whether he had attended the required training man days for the year. This will also be considered as a part of the appraisal and separate scoring will be there.
