Mobile Usage in Organisations!
Type: HR, Report if not a HR topic
Posted 27-07-2010Reply
Hello Friends,
These days we are noticing that most of the organizations are coming up with stringent Mobile Usage guidelines in the work areas and in the working hours. Is it necessary to have such policies or will it be discouraging to employees?
I wanted to know the opinions of the HR professionals working in various organizations.
Thanks & Regards,
Sri Manjari
Companies look at mobiles phones more than a distraction in employee hands. They are worried about data security and information leak through camera mobile phones. Companies started provided a common landline phone to make or receive emergency calls during working hours.
Mobile usage policy is must in the current scenario to safe guard the company information and avoid distraction from work routines. Only the authorised personal list as per the policy are allowed to use mobile phones with some riders.

Thanks Sabarish. And Gagan I agree with your views. The Management should have a Mobile usage policy and also the employees should respect it and accept it as a policy to maintain their concentration during work hours rather than looking at the policy as a punishment. The management should ensure that the policy is accepted by all its employees in the right sense.
