A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.

The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband.

When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

QUESTIONS

:

1. What were the five words ?

2. What is the implication of this story?

ANSWER:

The husband just said "I am with you Darling"

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior.

The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother.

Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.

No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears . And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you THINK.

MORAL OF THE STORY

This story is really worth reading. .....

Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out something.

awesome Pradeep.. thissimple story teaches us to stop playing the blame game and be matured enough to accept when we are at fault irrespective of the consequences... i know it is VERY HARD to acknowledge our mistakes but when we play the blame game the problem is not solved and also the person on whom the blame is put suffers alot - both mentally and emotionaly..

Thanks buddy...

Very true sir, earlier i use to be very dominating and blame things on others then gradually i realized no i m wrong, i m equally responsible for good and bad. If i m praising myself for good then why not blaming for bad.
I stopped doing that from then and today i feel my team is much more comfortable working with me as i give them credit for the revenue or target we git and take the responsibility we lack some where as i m team leader, whatever mistake they are doing i m responsible for that, my job is to make them correct rather then finding out the mistake and blaming.
Many are there who tell us our mistakes but very few who tell how to correct it.
I want to be in those few and if i were at this woman's husband place i know i must have said the same with few more words don't worry if we are there we can think of a baby but if i will lose you i can't have both so never blame yourself as it was destined, i want you to be there with me always.

Also i will like to add sir, (while its not related to the topic still like to say...) we run behind or care for those things which are very prominent or you can say doing big - big things on the imp occasions while i believe caring for small -small things, picking and giving smile on simple things can make them important rather then waiting and doing on important dates or days (they are imp in themselves, try to make other moments memorable too).

it takes hardly few seconds to say you care or love or get some small gift (like chocolate, perfume or flower) but their echos will last a long, see those smiling lips, eyes filled with love and hold those hands which are always there with you when no one was even you were not believing yourself.

I will ask to try it to those who are waiting for an occasion as a burden or just as they don't have time for such things(a real excuse but still an excuse) then see the difference.

Thank you so much Shipra for sharing your personal experiences with all of us.I do agree with you as we tend to blame someone for things which go wrong and try to search for scapegoats for any failures or loss.I endorse your views and it's very heartening to know that you have developed an attitude of forgiveness and understanding which is quite exemplary and worth emulating.
Now coming to show care through small gestures make me remember a quote which I would like to share with you and all "The fragrance of hand that gives a rose lasts forever rather than the fragrance of rose".So these small small things matter a lot that they will give you immense satisfaction which you cannot get by giving lakhs of rupees.
Thank you so much Shipra for sharing your views and keep going.Believe me, you have got all the qualities to make it big in your career and life.Keep it up!
Cheers!
Pradeep

Hi Pankaj,

I m very proud to say my mother asked me few promises from me when i left my home town (again i will say i not a good player of words so in my style ...)

1.Never say lie to get profit only as one day you will realize it wrong that time you will not be able to face your inner self
2.You go to temple or not but never hurt anyone that is biggest worship
3.Be open for your negatives and faults, it will correct you more as whatever you share reduces now decide what you want to share your positives or negatives
4.At last but not the least leave every thing on God as it is destined.

Try to change it with your karmas though umbrella can save you some what from rain drops but can't stop rain to come.
also you can clean any obstacle from the drainage but can't increase the volume and speed of the water flowing in it
so try to be good in your karmas to make little changes rest is destined, no rituals can change.
(my mother is well known social worker received many prestigious awards including Yash Bharty, Kabeer Award and only woman in Indian+Iranian history to be awarded as Guard of honor on their republic day)

Rest on meeting Buddy, i don't want to have mata shipra devi tag in the HR Link, but beware i m very naughty and fun loving too.

Thanks buddy
