Why HR guyz ask any candidate - Why do you want to leave your current job?
Common sense man! Simply because he is unhappy there.
How will a person say that his Boss is a crazy arrogant man and he is completely pissed off on seeing his face as the first thing in the office?
Hi Priyanka,
Of course we are having a habit when any friend of us meets in the cinema hall the first question comes as ?
..........................to see movie? or to sell balck tickets?
Like the same passion the HR persons will asks the same boring question why you left from the previous organisation? The man who asks u the question will also leave and face the question.
With humour.

On a serious note, just to make sure that the reason why he is leaving, does not become a reason of their exit when they join the current organisation. Examples like a pressurised environment, empowering bosses, duplicuty in job profiles etc.
Some of the employees also leave their jobs due to personal reasons like relocation of family, spouse's relocation, marriage (in case of females) etc.
When we do an attrition analysis, we need to understand what is wrong in our current system/ policies/ office work culture which is compelling the employees to leave.
Anyways, these days, employees are bold enough to say, that they had crazy bosses in their previous jobs and could not cope up them.

Hi Priyanka,
I agree with you. I have faced this question and its the only question which bothers the MOST!!
I always think...how is an answer to it going to help the employers in selection of a candidate??
A candidate may answer to it honestly or may even lie...
Yes, I do agree if it is only out of curiosity that such a question is asked....but if it is asked for judging a person's chances of surviving in an organisation...then i really don't agree with it.
When a candidate DECIDES to leave an organisation, he leaves..no matter how hard an employer tries to retain him.

Hi Priyanka
This question may sound silly and as others said once a person decides to leave..she/he will leave no matter how well you try to retain.
But if you look at the same question from the recruiter point of view....the answer could give you some clues whether she/he is really interested in your job or just wants to know his market value he /she is here for an interview.
This is question can save your time and companies interest with the candidate
....instead we can give priority to genuine candidates
There are more perspectives...
Cheers
