Excellent share... Some of the details are mind blowing...
Hi Priyanka,

First of all, we need to understand that we are not talking abt specifics here, but in general. Also we are talking abt diverse sectors from highly skilled to low skilled.

A CEO needs to manage a lot of areas, including the basic one like Finance, Sales & Marketing, Production, R&D, Logistics, HR etc. In traditional companies, CEOs or even HR heads were preferred to be technical. But that mindset is changing now adays, and more and more HR people are migrating to overall management roles. The knowledge base in those areas is required to be more broad and hence more finance & marketing people have had a stronghold on that, but not anymore.

Now I will need an input Mr. Harish.

Someone is trying to understand a point, and instead of telling him or her all about it, we make the other guy look stupid, this is NOT HR.

HR is all about sharing ideas, values, traditions, systems, policies, procedures so that world is a better, harmonious place, in simplest of words, so that we all can benefit.

Pls read the chain of posts written above, and you will get to realise how acrimonious your posts have been on this topic.

Seems you have a predecided mission, before opening any post, and that is to verify the content & its original author, and whether the writer has credited the original writer or not. The intention is, undoubtedly noble, but its execution is, sorry to say, FLAWED.

Someone like me, who joins the discussion late doesn't know anything about it. What , or who gives you the right to berate him, either directly or indirectly. Now dont say you haven't berated anybody. Also request you not to be so acrimonious. We all are dignified professionals and we should maintain that. Sorry if i hurt anybody, but just see the spirit of writing to understand its meaning.

Instead of we novices giving our expert opinions, why dont we check from some specialist about it?

HI, It depends upon what you want to do with the BPO.

What kind of sector you are in, what your client base is going to be, and where you will be operating from.

Its like finalising a name for your kid. You wouldn't go asking anybody and everybody you meet what should be the name of your kid.

Similarly, pls, think of a few names yourself, and then if you want, you can ask your near & dear ones for their inputs.

Ultimately, a name is just a name. Would reliance be any different, if it were named, lets say, zako...??

Rgds
Thanks Diana !

We understand that there are issues when a couple is working in the same organisation. Now based on ones own experiences and the policies of ones organisations, you would have come to these conclusions.

However we cannot generalise based on a few isolated incidents, and we need to have a broad outlook. That was the sole reason it was posted on this forum.

We have looked at the various problems, however, we are yet to see pluses emerging from this ...

Pluses could be :

1) Improved quality of life since minimum 10% more time would be spent together (while travelling)

2) Improved understanding of the stresses one is facing on the work front, so better emotional support

3) Better vision w.r.t. the growth path of the organisation / in the organisation

4) Improved learning curve... (need to have more discussion on this)

5) Since work place is common, so more focussed approach towards achieving the organisations goals and aligning personal goals with the same

There could be lots more, and they all could be more relevent, but we are talking about the tradeoff between the two, and see what is more beneficial ... More thoughts would be welcome.
