Winston Churchill once said “Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm”.

Success: there have been books and books derived out of this topic. I mean who doesn’t want to know the formula for the same but the big question is

does anyone know the formula? More over is there any such formula? May be we should link success with Luck for most of the time great men have said and explained when awarded that they just have been way too lucky and blessed to become so big. Confused …aren’t we all? We all do not know what it takes to be a Bill Gates, or a Barack Obama or Mukesh Ambani or Sonia Gandhi. What did they all do so different that most of us did not or are still struggling to do?

So many times have I heard people asking each other this question “what do you want from your life?” and the funniest thing is people actually think hard before they could give their answers. Some said they wanted power, while some claimed to want loving and beautiful partner/relationships and a few said financial security is the most important to get. While a question like this has a very simple answer still it never clicked anybody that what we all deep within us really want is just to-be-happy. People generally need something materialistic around them to feel successful, but what we don’t realize is happiness is just a state of mind and not a car or a house or a multibillion dollar bank account or we wouldn’t have seen so many movie stars in rehabs, top notch corporate guys/icons committing suicides after having and living everything they ever wanted.

To be happy all we need is to feel good about ourselves and to feel good about our selves what we want is to feel loved and admired by others.

But to be admired we often think we need to be rich, famous, powerful and intelligent which is so not true. The only way to hit success is when we learn to fail gracefully, when we learn to not give up even when the odds are against us for when we learn to hold on even more and say “I wont let go” during the rough times, and stay on board alert and optimistic even after knowing that the ship is sinking while everyone else is running out, this is what motivates people around us we all admire brave men with courage ,men/women who even after falling hard on their face- grin at themselves get up and work even harder to bounce back again. These are true men/women with strong up bringing and character who people look up to. For I strongly believe “Success is Persistence”, “Success is to believe in yourself “and “Success is to just not give up” and always remember its not where you start that matters but where you finish.

What you become when you reach your destination is far more important then what you get by reaching there. Reaching your goal/dream is not going to be easy for there is no free lunch in life , but the journey towards your destination will craft you to become a better person on the way and the person that you will become then will be called a success. Right attitude + Skills+ Character = Success what goes in your mind affects your thinking and your thinking affects your performance and performance effects your future so it is very important to keep your mind in happy state to get happy results. “Good stuff in = good stuff out” and vice versa. Success is always temporary when all is said and done all we are left with behind is our character therefore when we combine our character with skill and built a solid foundation within ourselves we maximize our ability to go ahead and reach to the top even higher. I once was told by a very enthusiastic friend of mine that “when preparation meets opportunity it is called luck” how true is that! For no one is born lucky these days but chooses to be lucky.

LUCK no more is by chance but by choice and so is SUCCESS.

Very true,

To be successful, you should first define what "success" means to you...

No two minds think alike about this simple question...you can not generalise it as fame, money, power, designation, happy family....etc

For me success is when you are well balanced in mind, body & soul...when you have peace of mind to choose, decide & execute your priorities & do them with excellence...
To have the physical strength, health & fitness to be able to do what you wish to!
To have enough time to spend with my inner self & communicate, meditate & find the inner success through calmness...

Yes, to reach any of these we do need something materialistic...financial support & security, healthy food, comfortable place to live, understanding partner/family... These are all "instruments" which help you reach success, but they alone can NOT be called as "success"...

Lovely article, it reminded me of Antony Robbin's teachings...Thanks for sharing...

"The great successful men of the world have used their imagination…they think ahead and create their mental picture in all its details, filling in here, adding a little there, altering this a bit and that a bit, but steadily building - steadily building."
Robert Collier

The article u posted is a real good one Pooja.. it does show us that at the end of the day no matter what we have it will nt matter... but sleping in peace, seeing a smile on the face of ur loved ones because of u is all that one needs.. Evry person wans to earn earn and earn.. and the reason is to be financially stable, give their families a good life, never count money before buying anything etc... but the hours wasted earning this money keeps them away from the family... its love, time, happiness and care that actualy matters...

Like Napolean said : There is one kind of robber whom the law does not strike at, and who steals what is most precious to men: TIME...
