Hi,
We are a small firm in which each person is a dept in itself. One of my colleague handles Finance and Accounts dept. Recently the management had recruited a senior person to overlook her work. This has made her feel a bit sad and she doesnt like the idea of being under constant supervision. Can u pls help me with some suggestions or tips as to how as HR i can make her understand that this change is good for both the employee as well as the management.
Your views in this regard are highly appreciated.

As a HR your role is to implement the programs or policies of the management. So please let your colleague understand that he/she is paid to work in a position which is assigned to him or her, feeling bad shall not help moving forward. The fact is handling finance & Accounts being a HR is a burden, the pressure of the stereo typic accounts and finance functions would have limited the activaties in the HR arena, thus he/she can now actually concentrate on lot of new areas in the HR arena.
Normally HR's in small companies get used to doing a particular job in a particular way, they do not understand that a day will come when no of people in the organization would go up but the HR team will almost remain the same thus it is these times when the lead should take oppertunity to broden the scope of work or move into better process.
