Hi Friends!

There has been lot of discussion going on in these forums about dealing with difficult and troublesome employees. We, HR professionals should be capable enough to deal with such kind of employees so that they can be tackled easily.I would like to share with you a document "Dealing with Difficult Employees"to throw more light on various steps to be taken to avoid any unpleasant situation with difficult employees and reach an amicable solution.

Cheers!

Your attached quick reference guide is quite interesting. Since most of my experience has been in the UK (Employee Relations Specialist) I am unable to relate to the Indian Corporates, I might need your help in understanding this.

I wonder if compaies have a specific Disciplinary code where certain mischiefs and misbehaviours are clearly documented as misconducts and Gross Misconducts and should an employee resort to such behaviour a disciplinary action is instigated?

Laying down the Dos and Dont's will certainly help managers manage difficult employees better.

What do you say?

Thank you Shalini.
We do have a set of rules called "Standing Orders" which requires to be certified by Labour Department in manufacturing sector and other than that there is "Model Standing Orders" under "Employment Stainding Orders Act" which defines the service conditions and series of misconducts upon which an employee can be penalised or punished. In other organizations they will be having their own set of "Service Rules" wherein the misconducts and magnitude of punishment will be defined.
Thank you once again for your observations and comments.
Cheers!

Hi Pradeep

Morning. Thanks for your comments.

I can imagine what you refer to in a manufacturing sector as such firms have to comply with the Health & saftey regulations quite strictly so their service rules (Disciplianry code) should include a lot of things.

I would be interested to see an example of the "Service Rules" document from a non-manufacturing sector, any chance I can get one?
