Dear Rupali

Please go through the below details. Hope this will help you.

Mandatory Employee Benefits :

PF : Rs 780/- per employee pm. If the employees basic is more than Rs 6500/- then PF is not mandatory.

ESI : If the employee's sal is Less than or = to Rs 15000/- then the employer has to pay ESI of 4.75% on the gross sal of the employee.

Gratuity : When an Employee is more than 5yrs old in the company then the gratuity will be taken into consideration.

Non - Mandatory Benefits : These are provided according to company's policies.

1. Group Insurance ( Life Ins ) : It is needed if employees life is at rist at the work place. This is applicable for Factories and some heavy industries. Not required for corporates.

2. Medical Insurance for an employee and his spouse & 2 children : For min of Rs 50000 to Rs 200000 the premium will cost Rs 5000 ( approx) to the employer. This can be included in the CTC of the employee.

3. Sodexo Passes : Max Rs 2400/- PA can be used for tax exemption. So RS 2400/- PA can be given. This also can be included in the CTC.

4. Educational Loan : Purely depends on what kind of education the employee wants to go for and whether that can be affordable for the company. It can be decided on case to case basis.

5. Job Training : same as point 4.

I request all the participants on this topic, to correct me if i'm wrong somewhere.

Replied to "PF deduction" in Compensation and Benefits!!
24-11-2010.
Dear Vamshi

If the company's employees strenght is more than 20 then PF account is must, but if it comes down below 20 and the company thinks that the expansion is not possible in coming years, then the company can a send a request letter to PF office to cancel their account so that no furthur PF to be paid.

Replied to "PF deduction" in Compensation and Benefits!!

Hi Barkha

when the employee strength in the company crosses 20, then it is mandatory to have PF account. But when the employee's Basic Salary is < or = to 6500/- in that case PF deduction is not mandatory. But still if the employee wants to have PF then 12% of Employees Basic sal should be deducted and Max to Rs 780/- pm can be given as Employer contribution i.e Rs 9360/- PA.

Hope this info may help you.

very interesting article. Thanks for sharing...
Hi Rajesh!

You have choosen a very important and useful topic.

Generally what I do is when a candidate is rejected, i don't just directly tell that he is a rejected candidate, because what i feel is may be after few months he is again useful for me in my recruitments.

I just tell that " the feedback from my headquarter is pending and due to some problem in the particular project the recruitment process has been kept on hold. I would definitely like to be in touch with you for the furthur developements".

And this way I never let my candidate go, though he is a technically rejected.
Hope I'm doing correct. Please comment if you disagree with me.

cheers !!!
a good write up. also suggest how to improve concentration if possible :).
