Beautiful story!
I agree.. time is the most precious thing that you can share with somebody...
It usually happens that due to our busy schedules and hectic lifestyle we do not spend time with people close to us and we try to compensate for it by buying them gifts.
Its true, people might forget what you did , they are never gonna forget how you made them feel!
And, if we look back, the times we really remember are not the ones were we were rushing to get something finished/accomplished... its the time we spent connecting with our family, friends n ourselves.
Thanks for sharing a wonderful story!
Regards,
Liz

Yes, personal email IDs definitely make more sense since official e-mail IDs would no longer be valid once we leave our present companies.

Hi Arun,
More details required. What kind of resources and for what purpose are you holding the debates?

Hi Sudarshan,
Thank you very much for the inspiring thought... "if not me, who else?"... :)
The thing is, I still haven't identified my passion... there are a lot of things I want to do in life... thought I'll figure it all out on the way...
Thanks again! :)

Hey Kinchit!
Interesting trivia..
Regarding Pt. 2 - I read somewhere long back that "All Day I Dream About Sports" is what people made up. The real reason is Adidas is a shortened version of the founder's name. (Adi Dassler of Germany.)
To quote from wiki:
The backronym All Day I Dream About Sports, although sometimes considered the origin of the adidas name, was applied retroactively. The name is actually a portmanteau from "Adi" (a nickname for Adolf) and "Das" (from "Dassler").
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Priyanka,
I do not have any experience of taking decisions like these... but still here's what I think..
I truly believe your friend Vishal should take up the new offer.
Its a very good company, its his target industry/sector and in these times of recession he still managed to get into a company like that. He just has to give it his best, ensure his work and effort gets noticed and then make his case for getting permanent in the company after the 6 months get over.
Of course, he will somehow have to workout the one-month notice period thing. Maybe explaining to the company he is joining and/or the consultancy firm he is leaving might work out.
In any case, if after 6 months he doesn't get permanent, he still has a great experience to write in his resume. And the job he is currently doing, being available in plenty, he can easily get in another firm.
And, if we are being optimistic here, let's just say we can start hoping that the worst of the recession is behind us and things are improving.
Taking a risk when the opportunity is so good should pay off for better than worse!
All the best!
