I have been busy in audit so could not get back. Thanks for the help you have provided. Nice input. I am planning to come up with a matrix (may be a questionnaire with a rating scale with statistical validity) which could be initiated for the assessment of the attitude throughout the organization. Hope that works.

Legally all the statutory compliances such as EPF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, etc. are to be complied with till the superannuation of an employee.

However, once an employee completes the age of 58 years and reaches the superannuation as is specified in his appointment letter, Law forbids the EPF contribution, ESIC, Bonus viz a viz statutory deductions.

On the other hand, since it is an extended service, management on its own can continue paying the gratuity till the separation of an employee. There is no legislation which says that employee can not be paid the gratuity amount on reaching the age of superannuation.

Since the extension is the discretion of the management; govt. play no interference in respect of the statutory deduction nor it offer any and the company can continue paying 4.81% of the Basic.

Dear all

Signing bonds with the employees as a means to retain them most of the times exist in two cases:

One as already pointed out by Shipra; when freshers join. The main intention behind it is that since they are not experienced Company spends a good amount on their training so that they can gain expertise in their field of work and meet results set to the standards by the company. In this event, in other cases it is seen that freshers take the training after the so called honeymoon period is over they move out of the company; which is very frustrating for any organization. Thus, in this case signing the bonds with the employees is justifiable.


Secondly, in some cases freshers as well seniors are sent to the important technical trainings and thereby spend a huge amount thereby. If we take the example of "SAP certification training", almost all the companies make those who undergo the same sign the bond which also looks justifiable.

Pivotal rule behind signing the bond is making sure that company gets ROI on the amount it spends for the grooming of employees.

I have seen this movie for not less that 4 times!! and really every time I see this movie there is a new learning I get through it!! Its really worth a watch.

The movie can be appreciated for all the reasons that exist!!

It has explained the best a human being can do in the worst possible condition!! Good experience watching the same.

I accredit this post as one of the good and very much needed initiative! Thanks for starting the same. Its really a no use discussion that had been on and on which had no fruition in the end.

I personally feel that its better to stick to the subject matter irrespective of all the controversies are raised or else not to comment at all. As a single response had led the topic to the place where it has never been intended, its better option to keep quiet. At least that takes that topic back on the track and finally what is important is to gain something out of it!!!

Open discussion itself means that its open to all point of views (whether its "for" or "against" the topic) and should be appreciated or contradicted as one feels based on his logic and experience.

Friends, best agenda whilst commenting is to keep in mind that we have posted a reply to this topic and we are in support of the same that means discussion must be healthier and meaningful for everybody on the forum!!

I dont have to give you any kind of justification. I dont have any personal grudges towards you but that does not mean that I will not refute your inappropriate comments.

Secondly, there is no need for me to justify any of my points as I have not said anything wrong that needs a justification.

Thirdly, I dont see anything like only male community is favoring me; you can check the statistics.

Fourthly, a friendly advise....learn to be open to all the views when you are into an open forum.

I really feel pathetic that everything above I am pointing towards only you which I had never done till date; however I have never encountered this thing.

Finally, I just want to point out that has there been anything rational in your comments or statements, I would have found at least a single person going in line with you. I didnt find any after the brief perusal.
