How to assess Attitude of the candidate??

Hello friends and colleagues!!
New year wishes to everybody!!
Since attitude has become an integral part an employee should have; how do the interviwers assess the attitude of a candidate during the hiring process??
Tools, measures or any assessment matrix will be most appreciated to get the clear picture of the assessment and evaluation.

Good topic...I remember this topic being shared in different forums & topics...after all, one of the integral part of HR is to read & understand one's attitude...since no one needs a work place with behavioural issues...

I have been busy in audit so could not get back. Thanks for the help you have provided. Nice input. I am planning to come up with a matrix (may be a questionnaire with a rating scale with statistical validity) which could be initiated for the assessment of the attitude throughout the organization. Hope that works.
