Hi All..............Recently I was attending a small gathering of HR professional in Delhi Area and it was unanimous that money is no more a sole reason of motivated employees. The best that emerged was Appreciation and Recognition. Though this is not something new, but finding the innovative ways to do so is a challenging job. I remember, in my last company, the HR department started sending the Birthday and marriage anniversary greeting cards to all the employees. The cards were bought from the local card shop and the practice really was appreciated by the employees. Obviously they felt good about it. It was certainly better than sending an e-card that was certain to be deleted. Employees used to take the greeting card to their home with them..............................But pretty soon the tempo in the HR team started fading down. they had loads of other works and this added task started demanding extra time from them. Result :- A fantastic practice had to be discontinued.........................I thought to put this situation to the forum and have some views on this..........................................(Though, they have started using a service now which just needs the HR managers to outsource their "Employee Connect" programs and the vendor take care of supplying fully personalized, fantastic greeting cards and On-Demand Certificates for the employees.)
