HR Business Partner

Role Description and responsibilities

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The HRBP will be the primary and single point contact HR interface with the businesses/Divisions responsible for executing the transactional and transformational People agenda by proactively developing and executing the Human Resources strategy and plan. This is a unique opportunity that is both operational as well as strategic in focus.

The HRBP works in partnership with the business to provide specialist coaching, support and influence that enable key clients to effectively deliver their people plans. Provide a consultative service in conjunction with specialist HR functions, that delivers best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business area

Responsibilities

• Operationalise the HR strategy and accompanying plans that support the business agenda.

• Drive the operational people calendar wrt performance management, learning and engagement ensuring the People Managers & Leaders are equipped with the necessary skills and behaviours..

• Embed a performance management culture within the business area as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the improvement of customer service through behaviours aligned with our values.

• Ensure a seamless customer experience by proactively managing the HR Business Partner and HR Specialist interface.

• Implement key HR Programs that would include developing and driving retention strategies, performance management implementation, talent reviews, succession planning, reward/recognition, learning plans and talent development as appropriate, in line with business and function needs.

• Work as a pro-active member of the HR leadership team, for example challenging existing practices, designing organisation development processes, implementation of a corporate culture programme, drive employee engagement and satisfaction for retention. Etc…

• With all HR work look to drive the function to become more proactive, rather than reactive, including driving HR Transformation program. Additionally work with the HR Group Shared Services to build on and improve credibility and HR service delivery.

• Effectively coach line and senior management in matters that relate to people and HR processes.

• Participate in External and internal branding of HR to maximise employee attraction and retention.

• With the Talent management team, create an environment of “best practice” and “employer of choice”.

• Review and implement HR policies, procedures, HR systems and practices which align with and support business needs.

• Maintain a professional level of knowledge of employment law and emerging trends and developments relating to all Human Resource Management activities.

• Work closely with business leaders on all people needs including coaching, counselling, mentoring recruitment and compensation issues.

• Proactively gain client feedback to aid HR functions improve service levels and alert HR areas where an issue/project may impact on other areas

• Provide both transformational advice and transactional support (contracting in services throughout HR where required) on change management initiatives, organisational / departmental restructures / job role design / outsourcing / redundancy etc.,

Desired Skills & Experience - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

The role will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Masters Degree qualifications in Human Resources.

• Strong operational Human Resources experience (10 to 15 years) within a large Indian or multinational organisation preferably within the Consumer Goods/FMCG industry or similar environment with a focus on field sales, marketing, research and/ or commercial organisations

• Creative, flexible and adaptable decision maker and problem solver – preferably can demonstrate lateral thinking capability.

• Have the stamina, resilience and determination to succeed in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

• Ability to challenge, persuade and influence senior managers.

• An effective communicator and experienced networker internally and externally.

• Ability to challenge existing practices appropriately and impact change management.

• Analytical with a strong business focus.

• Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business and all levels of the matrix both in and out of country

• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills

• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a small team

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment

• Willingness and initiative to ensure continued self-development and currency with the HR profession

• Ability to manage ambiguity

• Demonstrate strong customer focus, and possess the energy and tenacity required to succeed in a rewarding and challenging environment.

• Possessing the highest levels of integrity
