Hi Aparna,

Further to your query, I was a part of Temp Staffing or say Contract Staffing for more than one year. And it was really a very tough task to convince the candidates esp. who are having an exp of say more than 4 to 5 yrs to come on contract that also for 1 year only.

At starting I found it very difficult but the moment I starter I was in love with my job. I have delivered on every damn profile say from lower level to upper lavel and I enjoyed doing its each and every part.

I use to tell them that its an golden opportunity to work with such an MNC co., you will get to learn new and that will be an added advatange to your profile and I always managed to see that all my candidates get a fair hike.

And Aparna, this is one year back like that time the job market was too good but now its recession time but still you can try, here are some points which can help you out :

1. Speak to the candidate in a well bahaved manner,

2. Listen him first,

3. Ask him whether he is interested for job change or not,

4. If yes, what kind of job he is looking for,

5. If not, still try to speak up with him and explain him the job profile,

6. First explain him abt the co. very well

7. Explain him about the job profile in such a way that he should be convinced,

8. And tell them about the contract thing (I know u will get a very negative resposnse) bt still try to convince him that if he really performs well he can be permanent and as such every co. keeps the employee for 6 months of probation period. Tell him its a golden opportunity and all where he can enhance his knowledge

9. And then negotiate for the salary.

See in between u will find many negative signs but do not give up. Try until u succeed, its just how to explain him the things.

Be cool, calm and patient.

Try this and still if you find any problem, let me know.

Accept this as a challenge and always have a never giving attitude.

As Recruitment is all about targets and challenges.

So hereby, I welcome you to Recruitment World.

All the best !!!!!

Warm regards,
Priyanka Singh
