Iam a fresher in HR.

Iam basically a B.com graduate and completed that in 2004.

i was trying for bank exams and between dng the computer course.i got a share market related job in 2005.i worked there for the period aug 2005-oct2006.

after that i joined my Pg in pondicherry university via distance education mode..due to personal reasons,i cudnt continue with my job, neither i cud join another job.........

due to these intervals, iam facing problem in interviews.i kept arrears in pg..

and to make the problem worse, iam confused abt my job.people r telling that its not Gd to work in consultancy,as it wont taken into account while applying for the same job in higher level.

Please guide me.wht kind of companies shud i choose and in which core of hr i shud search the job..........

Hi Uma,

who said to u,i.e once if u work in consultancy, its difficult to get the job into Corporate.most of my friends initially worked in a consultancy now they are into corporate tat too Generalist. So,consultancy is a path where u can learn abt the recruitment.(Basic things). so dont miss the opportunity.we should utilize that if u get a opportunity to work in consultancy, join there and equip urself into HR. then move to corporate, by that thiem u can face the interview without struggle.

Jai.

hi uma,

Though i am not from HR background.....based on my experience i would suggest you to get into the job which comes ur way.....even if it is a consultancy........if you work for a while, it would improve your confidence level and in turn ur confidence would fetch you an other job easily...... two things which are most important in any interview is ur eye contact with the interviewer and ur confidence level........ Always look straight into the eyes of the interviewer even when you know what you are saying is not correct bcoz that would make the opposite person feel your confidence level.......... remember that if you have rate your confidence between 0-10, 0 being least and 10 being highest........u should always rate yourself 10...not even 9........ when u say 10...u r confident...when u say 11...u r over confident and similarly 9........not confident.............hope u got the point.........so to improve ur confidence level u need to work for a while.. .......and if its so then why not consultancy???

Regards,
Sandhya
