My company offers Tech Staffing Solutions to the IT sector and our profile includes Staff on Contract basis too. We operate mainly from Cochin, Kerala although we have branches in Mumbai and Chennai. We have had a few staff working in contract with our clients, but i am seeing now the requirement for same is much more than it was before.

I was rather surprised to see requirement for temp employees are even seen inside local market. Recently i came across an article over internet on Contract Staffing Trends which reports "in the near future 2.5 to 3 percent of the workforce in the country will be hired on a temporary basis. The IT industry being a trendsetter of sorts, will witness a large percentage of such hirings in the next few years"

There isn't much to wonder as the benefits of running a short term project with Temp staff is beneficial for a company than going for permanent staff.

But the question is Who constitute the growing number of leased employees???? when job security is a big concern for us Indians??

Anyways your valuable reviews and feedback is much appreciated

Only We Indians look down @ temp staffing to be something inferior

in the western world they call it consulting ... and even CXOs are been hired on consulting grounds

The situation would change .. even to an extent of signing the contract in the morning and leaving the org in the evening after the job is done

A 1 day consulting job which is just at a stone's throw for today revolutionary HR .. change is inevitable .. lets keep our hearts and minds open

Not to stick on the old books of Job Security .. i strongly believe one's job security is in his / her own hands
