Hi Rashee,
Here I shall try and give you some tips about payroll processing in a IT set up. First decide on the various attendance aspects such as Present, Absent,Leave,Half Day, On Duty, Weekend, Holidays etc.
Then based on your company policy about permissions employees take.
So now you would be having Presents & Absence. In this calculation you will get the total number of days worked. Now take into consideration the leave policy in your organization, this is the next stage.
The leave can now be adjusted aganist the leaves available. This will be the attendance input for the particular month.
You can either continue on the same sheet or go into sheet 2, (All these are on Excel sheet). Here again you bring the final attendance days and then calculate the salary.
Here you have to take into consideration on aspect, some companies will let HR prepare until the attendance stage and the next stage get handed over to Accounts /Finance Dept, some companies will want HR to calculate until Sheet 2 and then they will audit the same and just pay the salary and take care of the Statutory payments as well.
This will depend on your companies process.
Attached is work sheet which I hope will help you.
Thanks
Koshy
