Dear HRLink'an,

Here gose some

Remarkable moments since Independence.....

The Chandrayaan-1, India's first unmanned scientific mission to the moon, blasted off successfully from Sriharikota on 22 October 2008. With the successful launch of Chandrayaan-1, India has joined an exclusive club of nations including the US, former Soviet Union, European Space Agency, China and Japan to have sent missions to moon. On November 14, 2008, the Moon Impact Probe separated from the Moon-orbiting Chandrayaan at 20:06 and impacted the lunar south pole in a controlled manner, making India the fourth country to place its flag on the Moon.

Indo-US nuke deal: Former US President George W. Bush signed the legislation on the Indo-US nuclear deal, approved by the U.S. Congress, into law, now called the United States-India Nuclear Cooperation Approval and Non-proliferation Enhancement Act, on October 8, 2008. The legislation amends Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, letting the US make a one-time exception for India to keep its nuclear weapons without signing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The amendment overturned a 30-year-old US ban on supplying India with nuclear fuel and technology, implemented after India's first nuclear test in 1974.

Kargil War: A Glorious Victory for India: July 26, 1999 is emblazoned in the annals of Indian history as a day when the determined Indian forces achieved a glorious victory over the retreating Pakistani army. The war, which was triggered following the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri militants into positions on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LOC), is one of the most recent examples of high altitude warfare in mountainous terrain, which posed significant logistical problems for the combating sides.

The Lahore Bus Yatra - Journey for peace: Since the partition of India in 1947, cross-border travel restrictions were imposed and most road and railway links shut off. However, in an attempt to improve frosty and tense relations with Pakistan, the Delhi-Lahore bus was inaugurated on February 19, 1999. The bus carried the then-Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which was met with much fanfare on both sides of the border and worldwide media coverage. The Delhi-Lahore bus remains a symbol of desired friendship between the two nations.

India's World Cup Cricket win: Kapils devils defied all odds and shocked the mighty West Indies to claim the coveted 1983 Cricket World Cup. After being bowled out for a paltry 183 in the final, Indian bowlers roared back to dismiss the much famed West Indies line-up for 140 to have the last laugh. Underdogs India's triumphs at the Lord's heralded a new chapter in the history of Indian cricket.

Tata Nano: Dubbed as the 'people's car', the Tata Nano has become the symbol of India's ambitions to leave it imprints as a modern nation. The Nano catapulted the dreams of many Indians to have a shot at urban prosperity. Describes as an eco friendly car, the Nano was the cynosure of all for its low price tag. Tata is also believed to be making an electric version of the Nano, called the E-Nano, which might well turn out to be the world's cheapest electric car.

Taj Mahal among New 7 Wonders: The worldwide effort to find the New 7 Wonders of the World which started in 2000, ended on 07/07/07 after hectic worldwide campaigning and international voting for the 21 finalists and effort by their countries to get their top monuments to win. And Taj Mahal, symbol of architectural wonder, found its place in the Seven Wonders of the World.

Miss World achievements: India has always been keen about the Miss World contest. Although Fleur Ezekiel was the first women to represent India in the Miss World Contest, popularity of this event gained ground in post-1994, when the European developed countries were left behind as India won both the Miss World and Miss Universe titles. After Aishwarya Rai, Daina Hayden won the title in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000. Since then, it has become a dream for millions to wear that coveted crown.

Konkan railway: Konkan railway was a sweeping challenge and it met its hero in Dr. E. Sreedharan, a veteran railway man known for brisk efficiency. Today the Konkan Railway, wends its fast and safe way through scenic country not despoilt by the pieces of engineering created for it. Konkan is an epitome of Indian engineering, efficiency, innovation, economy, speed, environmental awareness, public relations, aesthetics and service.

A lovely Post reminding of the Coming 62nd INDEPENDENCE DAY.......

Of course I am Proud of Being an Indian and do thank from my heart to all the fighters of the county to whom we owe our lives today. Starting from the first war of Independence in 1857 till 1947 the individuals who fought for us should not be forgotten and this is the day when we can show our gratitude to them and thank them as our duty.

Happy Independence Day to all of you........

Iam Proud to be An INDIAN.

In this situation of world economic crisis, recession is the evil-ghost effecting most of the nation. But as far as of India it has stable governing body RBI which is the main reason that india had very less impact of recession.

Surprisingly there are lot many Foreign investor showing interest for investing in our Stock market.

WorldWide people are Badly effected and changed there lifestyle. But in India ,although impact of recession is there , but it is not so worst condition

I Feel iam Lucky born in India,Proud to be an Indian.

Serve the Country and try to come back to india and be part of nation growth.

India have Many Intellectuals born here, but as not proper resources unavailable there are moving off. I feel they should come back and Serve the nation.

Jai Hind!!

I 100% agree with u Raj.... we have a pool of resource, talent, Knowledge....

AS far as recession is concern, technically speaking we are not in recession... we are facing the problem of credit crunch, cause other countries are affected by it, and we are a part of the world.

"Recession is one, which show negative growth for consecutive two quarters" --- Def given by one of my friend from HR link only

AS our monetary policy is so strong we are least affected by it.

Anywez, thanks for ur words Raj...
