Do not let the judgement of others define your self-esteem. Keep your self-esteem high; love and value yourself. Be your own judge and a compassionate one in that.
Grow a thicker skin. Learn to let criticism from others roll off your back. Don't take too seriously what "they" say. It doesn't matter what they say. They don't know any better. They are not your friends; they don't love you; they won't provide for you and your family; they say what they say only to fill time. It is because they have no goals of their own that they resort to judgement and gossip for their amusement. They talk out of habit.
In the end, they will have nothing to show for. You just keep your eyes on your goal and keep working.
The only person whose verdict must really count for you is your own. Listen to what they say, but do what you have decided. You be your most critical and yet most compassionate appraiser.
