For it was said, the ways He has are rather strange to test His children in every way.
I was however not a part of his infamously famous test but rather the victim of his ploy against the one He may really detest, my mind said; but my heart like always turned the other way for it believed - the deeper you plunge, the higher He shall let you soar. So wearing those rose tinted glasses I took the dive alright, only to have the dagger of mistrust thrust deep inside. I gripped on faith and tried to make my way up to a safer place. Constant attacks by boulders of failure loosened my grip as I fell into the nadir of darkness and despair. Alas! I lay there wounded, waiting to be rescued from misery or life whatever came first in His mind.
The saga of despair could have ended with my unshed tears and silent screams, but here I am penning down my thoughts. I was not rescued from misery and obviously not from life and constant curiosity to know what lay ahead caused nothing but throbbing pain. It was then the adage struck my mind “God helps those who help themselves” something which would strike many as quite juvenile but it made me realize that I was my messiah and my guide.
Tightening my hold on that stick of hope, again I rose as the rose tinted glasses gave way; to be replaced by a shade of gray as I embarked upon that journey up towards the glorious end. This was no joyride with the dagger of mistrust constantly lashing across my face and boulders of failure sabotaging my attempts to increase the pace. But then as decided by the Almighty, my messiah and guide I have to be and I cannot abandon me.
Our constant search for the showering of His blessings and eternal happiness sometimes makes us blind to the smallest reasons of joy. It were these bouts that in this constant turmoil brought out in me the biggest smile thus providing me the much required energy.
Alas! I made it out of the pits of darkness and despair. Wounded but strong – willed, I now flap my wings and make the loudest roar as I get ready to soar.
