HR Zone » Recruitment and Staffing » need for consultancy ??????
Hi Bhavya,
This is once again a tricky question to get confused.
Before the recruitments actually get started, a requisition will be raised initially which lists out the
requirements they want from a candidate (this includes yrs of exp, qualification, desired profile, roles and
responsibilities etc..)
So Firstly, while selecting a candidate they would select that candidate whose qualification in matching with their
requirement.
And secondly some recruiters check with the experience levels in a particular domain rather than looking at their
qualification. If that is the case they wont look for the qualification, they only consider the expereince levels and
this is basically depends upon the decision taken by the management and the selection officer.

Type: HR, Report if not a HR topic
Posted 03-06-2009Reply
hi frnds.......
1.Can anyone tell me,why company people recruit through consultancy???
When they have all the facilities, whats the neceesity to hire candidates through consultancy....?????
what do u undertand by consultancy???
2. What is pre and post recruitment?
This was my interview question...
:(
Hi Uma,
Here are the answers.
1). Why company people outsource
a). If a requirement is outsourced to some 4-5 consultancies, they can get profiles in a single day and they can get many profiles as possible, since each consultancies will pump in as many profiles as possible.
b). They can get quality profiles even the quality is not 100% but they can get right candidates.
c). They can save their time for sourcing instead they can concentrate on scheduling and offers.
2). Diff between Pre and Post Recruitment:
Pre Recruitment : The process which is carried out before recruiting a candiate, i.e. shortlisting, scheduling, interview, offer and joining.
Post-Recruitment : The process which is carried out once the candidate is on-boarded in the organisation. i.e.Induction, employee relation, performance appraisal, training and Development etc.
Hope this is useful to you. Next time in the interview surprise the interviewer with the answers.
Regards,
Rajesh

Rajesh has given a clear cut answer Uma,
Sometimes, some consultancies work exclusively on some domains, they employ technical people on some specific domains & then they outsource them to companies in need, on project basis...
Also, once the recruitment is given to one consultancies, they should make sure about the candidate should have genuine experience & have a record of it...(now a days it is less practiced)
Also they would take up the post recruitment, being with the candidate until he/she joins the Co. including background verification with the previous Co.
Dont worry about the interview questions...every interview can be a positive experience for you...
All the best,
Diana

Hi,
Some questions will have different perspective depending on the HR person who would take the interview.
I went for an interview in Accenture where the interviewer asked me this question
There is a requirement for which two of them are shortlisted BTech graduate who is having 2yrs of experience and B.Com graduate who has done some technical training and has 4yrs of experience. CTC is almost same.
Which candidate I would select as a recruiter?

Dear Sahaja,
I think so looking for percentage wont be right.... this is wot my perspective is....may be wrong....
as we miss out on good candidates coz there academic record is not high but they possess gud experience and knowledge of the market or the particular skill.....
but nyways we cant help it as some companies have policy of going on percentage rather than individuals experience....

Hi Uma,
There are a few advantages by sharing the Requirements with consultancies..
Firstly lot of time will be saved, they will do the entire process..
U can expect good quality profiles with in a short period of time and they will do screening there itself.
Interview Scheduling part will be done by them..
Salary Negotiations also will be done by them.
Negotiation on Notice periods & will follow up with the candidates till they join in the Company...
There will be free replacement for 3 months (depends on company agreement)
