Hi all,
Can you breif me about HR link? I am a new member to it and i want to know more about it. How many members are there?

I am working with MNC Chemical manufacturing company. We have flat structure and i was reporting to AGM - HR. When he left management has appointed new person as Sr. Manager HR. Our new MD has fired him within two months of his joining on the basis of there is a lack of good leadership and people skill.
My question is it really possible judge anyone's performance in such a short span? The new manager was blunt and was ready to take any action against violation of policies. As he was from core IR background he was not able to match up with our culture, but do you think you can judge any person in two months an again he has join in a time when company was facing some IR issues for the first time in our history.

I ll try to explain a little bit regarding your question SR.Manager-HR. and rest of the answer regarding HR link will be given by our seneor friends/collegues on HR link.
First of all the management thought regarding HR activities lies on only some particular issues like pay packages,IR issues, Laison etc. They dont bother about how senior he is and administratively what he can do.
In the case of newjoining the management only considers his seniority in HR field but not in whether it is in corporate HR or Plant HR. But the two things are different in the sence of a HR manager but the management feel as equal to HR to fit as a rubber suit.
When a real IR problem starts generally plant HR experienced person will react very sharply as he faces them in his real life. But in the case of coporate HR man he only think about its solving in a legal way.
So it might be some differences to adjust. But managements never feels like that. They simply comments on HR person so easily as these guys are waste for us.
My other collegues will explain the later part.
