I just wanted to know, what is the procedure to file a complaint against a Shop on ground of cheating.

Well friend
What is the allegation
Against the shopkeeper or coomodity?

If Shopkeeper, then the local police

If Coomodity then the there is a Consumer Court and forum
Just go and file the case
well u should carry the bill alongwith label of the commodity

Dear Priyanka,

If the shopkeeper has cheated you, you need to file a complaint in this regard in consumer forum alongwith the bills and copies of any other evidence you may have, to be produced against the shopkeeper.

However, the detailed information can be obtained through internet.

Hey Friends,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

The case is I have purchased a gold chain that is of 6.8 gm from a shop.

So the shopkeeper has charged ne a amt which was above market price, when I enquired for the same, he told me that its hallmark certified and all thats why the price is high, so I trusted him and went ahead.

But due to some problem, I did not wanted the chain any more so I asked the shopkeeper to return the chain and gv me somer other thing but he refused to do that.

then I said, I want to sell the chain then again he told that as you have done half payment from ATM your money cannit be refunded before 45 days.

But when I enquired for the same in other shops, they said that he has cheated you coz the MP of that chain will not go beyond Rs,8000 and you can sell the chain to him only coz if you will sell to other places u will be in loss.

As I have purchased the chain in Rs. 14000.

So this is the case, now tell me where to file.

As per my knowledge you should first go to the Police because this is not the case of any fraud in commodity by the manufacturer but this is pure dupery by the shopkeeper to earn quick money.
It would be better if you rush to the police station ASAP and lodge a complaint against the shopkeeper.
The procedure to lodge a complaint in police station i.e. FIR (first information report) is pretty simple and you should not face any difficulty in it. You just need to give them all the information what they'll ask about you as well as about the shopkeeper. As soon as the FIR is ready don't forget to take a carbon copy of that FIR. once this is done the cops should head towards that shop and then start the investigation by questioning the shopkeeper or they may also choose to call that shopkeeper to the police station and then question him regarding the case.

there is no harm in giving that person a chance to correct his mistake if he agrees to do so but if he still refuses then you can tell him what you are gonna do and directly head towards the police station. if possible, just for your security purpose you should ask someone to accompany you when you go ahead to do the same.
