A tete-a tete between a young boatman and an engineer crossing a river illustrates the important of good Human Relations in Life.
As the journey progressed:
Engineer: Can you speak English?
Boatman: No Sir
Engineer: Can you read or write in English?
Boatman: No Sir
Engineer: Do you know Bible?
Boatman: No Sir
Engineer: You have lost half of your life (irritated)
Little later, water started gushing into the boat through a small leak, and the boat started sinking.
Boatman: Sir, Can you swim?
Engineer: No, I never learned it
Boatman: Sir, your whole life is about to be lost………....Good-bye.
Moral of the story:
Mere knowledge does not take you anywhere. One has to be practical too.
A good human relation should not hurt other’s feelings.
Otherwise you will end up like the engineer.
Let us all learn a lesson from him.
