Gone are the days........but not the memories
Gone are the days
When the school reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks and benches.
Gone are the days
When we queued up in book depot,
And got our new books and notes.
Gone are the days
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet
Managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.
Gone are the days
When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals,
And returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.
Gone are the days
When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors,
Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds.
Gone are the days
When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table, Was awaited more
eagerly than the monsoons.
Gone are the days
Of fights but no conspiracies,
Of Competitions but seldom jealousy.
Gone are the days
When we used to watch Live Cricket telecast,
In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks.
Gone are the days
When few rushed at 5:30 to
"Conquer" window seats in our School bus.
Gone are the days
Of Sports Day, and the annual School Day,
And the one-month long preparations for them.
Gone are the days
Of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams,
And the most enjoyed holidays after them.
Gone are the days
We learnt, we enjoyed, we played, we won, we lost, We laughed, we
cried,
we fought, we thought.
Gone are the days
With so much fun in them, so many friends,
So much experience, all this and more.
Gone are the days
But not the memories, which will be
Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and
Ever and ever and Ever.
I hope you went back to your Golden Olden days..........
For a while..........as I DID!!
Didn't u????
I did have a flash back of the wonderful, innocent days...which were gone years back, but yet, seems just yesterday!!!
Gone are those innocent, care-free, happy & shiny days!!!
Alas, If we just knew how valuable are those days!!! We would cherish & saved every second of it...
Now that we are grown, we realise that, "Gone are those days"...
I keep telling every school/college going kids around, to enjoy their "time"...which would never come back!
Though, I guess this still applies:: "When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays" :)

When I see schoolgoing children, while coming to office, the Sweet memories gives a charming thought to change the way..... from Office to SCHOOL...!!!
The feathery touch of this thought makes my soul feel so rich... beyond the words...!!!
Rightly said.... "When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays"
But...
Mr. Pradeep why Only TWO Sundays I always wished to have atlest 3+ Sundays before each Sunday....
And A MONDAY to see some CHEERFUL but always neglecting FACES.....
(Towards the end of GOOD OLDEN Days (Std IX on wards....)
{Just KIDDING }....
I spent some golden moments out of this present world, in a very known, unforgettable, and very familiar SCHOOL DAYS....
while replying to this topic...
Thanks Mr. Pradeep for this CHANCE to get back to BENCHES from the CHAIR..
to get back to PLAY GROUND from the CORRIDOR..
to get back to FRIENDS from COLLIGUES...
Thanks a lot...

For reminding me of the smell of new books
For the anticipation of knowing my new bench mate for the month
If I would be made the class leader for that month
The anticipation of a new Class teacher
I guess the list is endless.
Just one simple word : Thanks !!
Reading your post, ws back to ma school days, which reminded me of ma college days....
Here are some lines which I want to share with you all....
Here I am sitting in my office …
Thinking hard about life
How it changed from a college life to strict professional life…...
How tiny pocket money changed to huge monthly paychecks
but then why it gives less happiness….
How a few local denim jeans changed to new branded wardrobe
but then why there are less people to use them
How a single plate of samosa changed to a full Pizza or burger
But then why there is less hunger…..
Here i am sitting in my office …
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…..
How a bike always in reserve changed to bike always on
but then why there are less places to go on……
How a small coffee shop changed to cafe coffee day
but then why its feels like shop is far away…..
How a limited prepaid card changed to postpaid package
but then why there are less calls & more messages……
Here i am sitting in my office …
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…..
How a general class journey changed to Flight journey
But then why there are less vacations for enjoyment….
How a old assembled desktop changed to new branded laptop
but then why there is less time to put it on……….
How a small bunch of friends changed to office mate
But then why we always feel lonely n miss those college frnz.….
Here i am sitting in my office …
Thinking hard about life
How it changed….. How it changed……..
Warm regards,
Priyanka Singh
Nice post.. It really made my heart warm..
Childhood is just like an icecream so tasty yet it melts so fast just leaving us with its lingering taste..
Childhood is just like a rainbow colourful and beautiful yet precious and alluding..
Childhood is just like a fairytale which always ended with happy faces and beautiful smiles..
Wish those days are back.. Hmmm
