HR Generalist: Provides HR services and support in one or more areas of human resources, i.e. recruiting, compensation, benefits, employee relations, etc.

Responsibilities include a multitude of activities such as policy/guideline interpretation, assistance in the escalation of employee grievance issues, liaison to workers’ councils and unions, implementation of business events, workforce balancing, new employee orientation, etc.

May also act as a business partner to managers, including counseling senior business managers on people-related strategies.

Compensation & Benefits: Develops, implements, and administers compensation or benefits policies/programs within the organization.

Typical assignments include assessing competitive practices and the organization`s competitive position for specific programs, developing recommendations for actions or programs, preparing reports and recommendations related to programs.

Employee Relations & Governance: Develops and administers proactive programs, procedures and policies related to employee relations activities.

Responsibilities include auditing the organization to identify employee relations issues, investigating formal employee complaints and making recommendations to resolve issues, and compiling statistical reports and information. Ensures that legal requirements are met in terms of employee relations to minimize exposure to liability.

HRIS: Develops implements and maintains the human resource information systems (HRIS) associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of employee information for the HR department.

Develops custom reports to meet the requirements of HR staff.

Evaluates HRIS software and hardware needs and may design new or modify existing HR information systems to meet changing demands. May serve as HR department liaison to MIS/IT function.
