Hi Reet

I completely agree with you, it is a amazing concept for focusing on employee health and gaining a desired level of employee engagement.
Hey Eshita, dont worry Stepathlon would be fun and easy going race for you.Walking 10000 steps in a day is a easy task.More over you will realize the change in your health and energy the more you will walk.

Keep walking,all the best!
I came across this amazing concept for employee engagement which is a virtual race called Stepathlon.

Well a lot of companies had took part in the race with its employees as participants forming teams.Every participant is given a pedometer and has to walk 10000 steps every day for 100 days which is tracked by the pedometer.

The Objective was health and fitness but a lot activities and engagement comes in to role when the teams compete with each other.
Great article .....really helpful

I agree more and more traditional organisations who never gave that eye to have a skilled and efficient human resource department, are coming out of their austere cocoon.

That is why today Human resource is seen with quantitative approach , where performance is a key factor.
Agree to all of the above facts you have described.

Now days organisations understand that employees are a key resource for the its survival. That is why Hr policies and cultures across organisation are becoming more employee friendly day by day.
Very true , when organisation takes care of the over all development of an employee , it leads to highest level of job satisfaction.

Another example i would like to share would be the Stepathlon initiative of creating a healthier workforce by focusing on wellness in everyday life is an interesting endeavor

Many such companies adopted this initiative and explored new levels of employee engagement
There can be various reasons for leaving the company and various causes depending on more than just one factor. However, fact of the matter is that no one person can be blamed for attrition.
The HR department does play a key role in keeping employee sentiment and satisfaction in mind but that doesn't leave them to be blamed as it is a collective effort of committment and endurance.
Hello Anika.

The office where i work has a lot of recreational activities. We have a table tennis table, 2 carrom boards, a pool table and an air hockey table as well followed by a chess board. These can be accessed from between 1 and 2 pm and again at 6 pm onwards. It honestly is a great stress buster as my working hours are similar (9am-7:30pm)

Also my company is taking part in a corporate competition called stepathlon where we're given pedometers and are encouraged to walk a target 10000 steps a day.. anyway, my company has branches spread across various cities and it has helped us interact with our counterparts in other cities. It has been good motivation and satisfaction.. plus it helps keep us active :D
